My Favourite Autumn Perfumes

I love autumn scents, musky and spicy and warm. I don't rotate too many perfumes at one time as I believe they don't smell as good if you keep them too long. I don't ever keep a perfume for 'best' I use all my perfumes everyday! These aren't my top 3 all time perfumes but these are are my top 3 Autumn scents that I am wearing at the moment;

I love this perfume. I have been wearing it now and then for years and years. It's warm and cosy and homely and reminds me of friends and comfort.

I first wore this perfume 10 years ago. It reminds me of family and my husband and my little sister in braces. It's weird what a perfume can do to you.

This was a limited edition that I picked up from the airport of our return journey from Cote D'Azur. It lingers on the end of summer and slightly into Autumn. It's rich but light at the same time and I love it. X

Sony A5000 - My thoughts

I have a holiday coming up in a few months which I really didn't want to use my iPhone for taking pictures with as the landscape will be too pretty to use a phone, even thought my phone is pretty good at taking pictures I really wanted to invest in a new camera. I bought a Sony Cybershot about 7 years ago which is not that great anymore so I settled on the Sony A5000, and after initially being a little disappointed with the picture quality, the photos seemed to be blurry and out of focus, mainly to me being a complete camera novice.  The sun was out today so I had a play with my new camera in the garden and once I managed to get them transferred onto my computer, thanks to the helping hand of William I was really impressed with the quality;

The images are really sharp. They don't always look in focus on the viewing screen, but will look great once uploaded to your computer. I'm really looking forward to using my camera more and going to new places to take pretty shots. If you are in the market for a new camera I would defiantly recommend taking a look at the Sony A5000.

I'm sure there will be lots more pictures of Snowy too, she loves having her picture taken! X

September Favourites

September has flown by and I can't believe next week it will all be over! These are my favourite beauty and home purchases of the month;

Yankee Candle - Home Sweet Home

I purchased this huge candle a few weeks ago. I have never owned this scent as a candle but I have has a car freshener and loved it. It is just spicy enough that it fits in well with Autumn without being overly Christmassy. These candles last for so long and I always have some form of candle burning in the background.

Clinique Chubby Stick - Intense - 03 Mightiest Maraschino

I have wanted to own a Chubby Stick since they were first released, but have only just got around to purchasing one. I went for a bright red, something really different to usual for me. I never normally wear lipsticks.

Benefit - Roller Lash Mascara

A mascara I have heard loads of great reviews about, along with most benefit mascaras.

Clinique - Anti-Blemish Solutions - 01 Fresh Alabaster

A foundation I always go back to after trying a few others in between. I love clinique make-up because it feels clean and light on my skin and the anti-blemish solutions range actually help to control blemish's at the same time. win-win!

Fashion Wishlist - ASOS

Ankle Boots

These would be so warm for Autumn and Winter walks. I have worn my Uggs to death now and these are a perfect alternative.

Knit Mittens

Because wool mittens are one of those things you should re-purchase every few years. I love the colour of these, and they look so cosy.

I just can't get enough of this song at the moment. I don't actually own a nightshirt, only pyjamas, so what a great excuse!

So, this item is way out of my price range, but I guess thats why its called a wish list. It looks super snug and I love neutral colours and grey at the moment. Its perfect for the colder evenings.

My October Goals

October is fast approaching, so I thought I would share with you my October goals. They are a real mix of everything, but I have tried to keep them obtainable!

  • Try and get to bed by 10pm each night, and read for half an hour each night. I'm currently reading this
  • Finish said book. I have been reading this book for months and months and I really think its about time that I finished it, so this is a great opportunity to put my plans into practice.
  • Buy fresh flowers for the house once a week. It's surprising how having flowers in the house can change the feel and mood.
  • Cleanse my face property - every night, no more micellar water cleanses!
  • Get up 6, or as close to. I always seem to be rushing around in the morning. I would love to walk 1 mile everyday before work, but the mornings are so dark at the moment that I'm not going to add this one in just yet.
  • Walk at least 2 miles per day. More if I can, but a minimum of 2.
  • Participate in 4 park runs. Hopefully I should be able to do this one!
  • Organise my computer. There are pictures and folders all over my desktop and I haven't sorted it out in so long. I'm using this awesome post by Kate La Vie.
  • Try and mix up my makeup a bit. I tend to keep my makeup the same everyday, and sometimes I am a bit worried of changing it. I have a wedding coming up in October and I really want to use the opportunity to try something new, like a lipstick, or winged liner!
  • Invest in a new camera and take some autumn walks. I have a really lovely arboretum near me and I really don't visit it enough, its so beautiful. Id love to just go walking more with my camera!
  • Take the time to paint my nails. I haven't done this for so long and really want to do it more again.
  • Carve a pumpkin for Halloween, and try and get Will to join in. Just for fun!
  • Try a new recipe, maybe a new soup.

I didn't expect there to be this many, but I guess that will keep me busy for the month! What are your goals? X

my favourite blogs

I've been reading blogs for years, so I thought I would share my top three favourites with you. Defiantly pay these girls a visit if you haven't already! X

La Semaine - 2

It's my second La Semaine already! Where is the time going? This week has been pretty quiet but still really nice, most of the week involved Instagram's of food and planning more blog posts;

Discovering my new love for tomatoes, and realising a heaped tablespoon of curry paste and extra chilli's will make a curry impossible to eat.

I want to my nearest outlet a few times in the last few weeks and what trip would be complete without a visit to Yankee Candle?! I can't get enough of their spicy, christmassy scents!

I spent quite a lot of time with the family this week while Will was away and it was so nice to spend some time with my sister. Who I defiantly don't see enough of!

I finally got my blog up and running on Bloglovin. Yey! I now have 4 followers, which is super exciting for me!

This week we went a little bit crazy and bought a lot of bamboo for the garden. (I might have a slight problem) The weather has been so nice this weekend It's been lovely to spend time in the sunshine with Snowy.

That's it for this week! X

My 5 year life plan

I've never really had a plan for life, it has just sort of slotted together. I went to college, met Will, went to University, got a job, bought a house, found Snowy and got married. I always thought that my life was complete and I didn't need to plan or evaluate it in any way! But, after being inspired by one of my favourite bloggers, Nicki, I have decided that a 5 year plan is exactly what I need. And what better time to start my plan, with my blog just starting up and my 29th birthday just on the horizon, I thought that this would be a perfect opportunity to really sit down and think about what more I want from my life;

I've broken this down into 5 categories. Obviously this would be different for everyone, but these work perfect for me.

I already own my own house and got married last year and don't have any debts to pay off, so I don't really have any massive saving goals. It can get quite hard to save generally when you don't really know why you are saving. I save for things like holidays but I've decided to set myself a goal over the next 5 years to save up enough money to put down a deposit on a second house to rent out. I may well change my mind when I reach the end of the 5 years but I have always wanted to be a landlord!

It's been just over 2 weeks since I started up my blog and I love it so much. I have already put so much time and effort into it and I'm really looking forward to watching it grow and seeing where it takes me. I plan to just post more and try and put myself and my blog out there, hopefully I will make some new friends and take some experiences from it!

Health and Fitness

I'm pretty good at staying fit, I run in the park run now and sometimes go out for a run on my own. It's always harder to run alone and I'm so glad my husband runs the park run with me too. It's really hard with the colder and darker nights setting in now, I just want to curl up with a hot chocolate and watch Netflix all night! I don't tend to watch much TV as I always seem to be doing bits around the house, or reading other peoples blogs. Over the next 5 years I plan just try and stay as active as I can. I don't have any want for a super toned body, but maybe take part in a few more sports events. I have the glow run coming up and I'm really excited for that!

Traveling is one of my favourite things to do. Other than my home its what I spend most of my savings on. I have been to some lovely places, but there are a few on my list that I would love to get done by the end of the 5 years. In no particular order these are;

I can't wait to see what adventures I have been on at the end of this!

Generally I just want to become more confident so that I can meet new people. I'm hoping that my blog will help me be able to do that one day. Starting a blog is a daunting prospect and it's always a bit scary opening yourself up. People that I don't know I'm ok with, but my friends and family I'm hoping they like it! I also want to learn more skills. I have a plan in my current job that will start to take me in the direction that I want to go with my career, but outside of work I'd love to get more involved with photography. Lucky my husband is a photographer and I have never asked him for much advice before, but I'm hoping to get a nice camera so that I can stop using my phone for taking blog pictures, thats the plan!

If you are looking for a really inspirational blog to get soaked into, be sure to go and check out Taking the Nicki, she has some really good thought-provoking, motivational posts X

My Bow tie brings all the boys to the yard..

A few weeks ago our little monkey Snowy celebrated her 2nd birthday, and what better way to celebrate than with a beautiful pink bow collar, from the lovely people at The Kitty Bling Boutique.

I was overwhelmed by the cuteness of the packaging and the time and effort gone into wrapping the collar.

For me?!

Every collar is handmade with love and made to order and as soon as the new collar was out of the packaging, Snowy was wearing it and proudly showing off her new accessory..

The Kitty Bling Boutique also stock lots of other great cat collars every occasion. I can't wait to see her in a Halloween bow collar next!..

La Semaine - 1

The weekend has finally arrived, and it's the first weekend since I started Snowy Autumn!
I thought it would be nice to round up the week in a blog post.

Hopefully this will be a regular feature;

Park Run

Last Saturday I took part in my first ever park run! It was great, I went along with my husband and managed to do 5K in 31 minutes, which I'm really chuffed about. If you love running or just want to run with others, you should defiantly look out for your nearest run, it's free to join and a great start to the weekend.

On Sunday I had a meander around the shops with the family and at lunchtime we stopped by Giraffe for some food. I ordered the carbonara and within a few minutes it was in front of me and so tasty! I haven't been for years and years and it made a really nice change to the usual lunch stop.

Spending some time with the sister!

The best carbonara I've had!

Cuddles with Snowy

Working full time means that there will always be some part of the week that involves cuddles with the monkey. We recently had to take her to the vets for a growth on her head but yesterday got the all clear, so that always calls for more cuddles of course!

Starting Snowy Autumn

I started my blog this week and I'm really looking forward to watching it grow. I'd love to meet some new friends through blogging, so please get in touch!

Netflix Time

There's always a Netflix night in the mix. At the moment I'm working my way through Pretty Little Liars, it's great! I'm currently on Season 2 so I have a long way to go before I find out who A is! I'm trying so hard to not accidentally see it as now it has finished, so I've got lots of sofa time to do!

That's my week, please leave a comment with yours! X

I think I've found a Gem

I'm a total chocolate lover, and most of the time the darker the chocolate the better. I've been drooling over Hotel Chocolat for years and only ever bought their chocolate as gifts for others.

So last week I made the decision to just buy myself some chocolate as a treat, because you know what I decided that I deserved it.

What I didn't expect was it to be the best thing I've ever tasted, and received. I feel like my birthday has come early!

Chocolat..For me?!

Little stones of heaven..

My first purchase and defiantly not my last. Hotel Chocolate you chocolate gods.
